Accent and dialect

0

Accent and dialect are very important to the way we speak. Your accent is the way you say words and your dialect is the form of speech you use depending on where you come from. In any part of the country, words for different things will be very different. There are a variety of very different and interesting accents in England, Venezuela, Spain, USA, Africa, China, Japon and so on. Or An accent is the way that particular person or group of people sound . It’s the way somebody pronounces words, the musicality of their speech, etc. A dialect describes both a person’s accent and the grammatical features of the way that person talks.

Idiolect comes from two Greek words, idio, which means personal and lect which means language. It is essentially your personal language. Imagine you were to write a dictionary of all the words you use, then that would be your idiolect. The greatest influence on your language is your immediate family, and the people you spend time with.

If you still not get my point, i will try to make easier for you. An accent, you can see from pronunciation. And how about dialect? You can see from grammatical , vocabulary and also pronunciation. For example,  you can see the different between america and british accent. In america " can " and " can't "are similiar to pronunciation  while british it has different to pronunciation. And how about dialect? For vocabulary in british: Football, biscuit, shop. And america  Soccer, cookie, store. Its so different, is not it?

Have you ever asked your self that your dialect or your accent will be lose? The answer yeah it will be. But depents on your self. You want to learn it or you want to use it on your social statue.
